HIHello and welcome to Love-Fit
I'm Alex Hurter, Mum, Personal Trainer, Pilates teacher, Barre Instructor and Pre and Post Natal Fitness Specialist. I am also a real person. I love chocolate, bread, even a little vino and some days have to repress the urge to exclusively consume only the above.
I began my career in the fitness industry in my late twenties after years of successful but pretty unfulfilling sales management. One day I came to a realisation that throughout all the ups and downs in my life, the one constant was always fitness. It always cleared my head and made me feel fantastic whether I was running (enthusiastically but not very well!) or going to a class. So in 2014 I retrained and turned my passion into a career.
I created Love-Fit because it is hard to eat well and train all the time, anyone who says it's easy is lying. It takes dedication, effort, determination and consistency to get fit, lose body fat, gain muscle tone and maintain it, so in order to be successful long term you need to enjoy the process and not take it all too seriously.
I am passionate about empowering my clients, teaching them that we aren't striving for perfection (which sorry folks, doesn't exist) but progress. You don't want to spend your life tracking macros and obsessing about how many seconds you spent working out - just be consistent; eat a balanced, nourishing diet and exercise regularly and those two factors alone will up your fitness game and have you maintaining a healthy weight forever!
Whatever your goals; fat loss, strength, training for an event, getting in shape for a wedding or gaining confidence and repairing your body after a baby, whatever it is I am on hand to support you and help you to get you through the day to day struggle - and the struggle is real. I want to help you to unlock your potential, build your confidence and show you that getting fit can be fun and will not only make you look amazing but feel amazing and will improve every aspect of your life.
I specialise in Ante/Postnatal Fitness and teach weekly Mum and Baby Fitness as well as Barre classes at Pilates On The Avenue, a boutique Pilates studio in Southampton.
I am also available for 1-2-1 Personal Training.

Pilates is the practice of functional movement that allows us to improve core strength, flexibility, posture, general fitness, focus, breathing, control. The list of benefits that come from regular Pilates sessions are endless.

Ante and Postnatal Pilates
Whether you are pregnant, have just had your baby or are several months post natal and are returning to or starting out on your fitness journey, Pilates is the perfect exercise form for all stages.
Pregnancy Pilates gently strengthens the whole body, focusing on your abdominal, back and pelvic floor muscles which support your growing bump. You will learn important breath work, stretches and relaxation techniques to help with labour and to relieve the aches and pains common in pregnancy.
Mum & Baby Functional Fitness -Whether you have just had your baby or are several months post natal and are returning to or starting out on your fitness journey, our functional fitness class provides a gentle,full body strengthening programme to restore muscles weakened by pregnancy and birth.
Expect gentle cardio, core strengthening including pelvic floor work and strength training for upper and lower body to address all aspects of postnatal recovery
I am experienced in rehabilitating diastasis recti (abdominal separation), pelvic floor issues and the workout is safe for prolapse.
Babies are welcome in class, I will be on hand to instruct and also to help with the little ones to allow you the me time you deserve and need for your sanity!
Classes are small, fun, friendly and offer a supportive atmosphere.
Trial a class for £8 and block book in advance for £7 per class.

I currently teach Pilates at Southampton Football Club and Paris Smith Solicitors..
I can come to you at your workplace and whether it is in your boardroom or any part of the office you can easily move furniture to the side we can work to improve the core strength, flexibility, mobility and all round wellness of your extremely valuable staff.

I am a motivating and supportive trainer, I offer challenging but enjoyable sessions and will teach the most effective ways to train so you are able to train effectively outside of our sessions too.

Barre Concept is a body revolutionising workout and that really is no exaggeration! Taking the best elements from a number of respected disciplines: the core strengthening elements of Pilates, the technique and control from ballet, muscle toning from resistance training and flexibility exercises from yoga - all fuse together to create a challenging and exciting workout. Barre will stretch and sculpt the muscles whilst burning fat, creating a long, lean dancers body, without being a dancer. Perfect!
